SCHOOLMASTER HORSES D2BS currently has 2 excellent schoolmaster horses which are available for lessons in-house at East Greenmount. Both of these horses are extremely quiet and excellent for either the experience rider to progress their understanding of higher level movements or for the beginner rider learning to improve their position on the lunge. |
Toby is a 16yo Warmblood x Andalusian who has been with Linda since he was a 4yo who was purchased as a competition horse after the sale of Linda's grand prix stallion River Range Copenhagen. Toby was competed in dressage up to Medium level by Linda before being retired to be a school horse at which he has proven to excel. Toby also doubles as the lead horse for many of our young horses being started undersaddle. He is also used to travel the young horses on the float for the first time to give them confidence. He is an invaluable member of our training team here at D2BS Below is a video of Toby giving a lesson to a 14yo student

Gabrielle is a 7yo Morgan x Thoroughbred (by the superb RanchBoss Cortez) mare who was purchased as an unstarted 4yo and is currently Linda's main Western Dressage competition horse competing at Level 3. She has also competed at English dressage up to Medium level. Gabby has been used part-time as a school horse since just a few months undersaddle as her temperment has been just that outstanding. She has proven to be an excellent school horse for any level of rider and is fantastic for giving riders a taste of what it is like to ride a truely light responsive horse. Gabby is also an exceptionally calm horse in many situations and excells at working equitation obstacle style challenges. It is this calm nature that makes her very popular with many of our learner riders. |
